Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mazura Jusoh is an academic staff in School of Chemical and Energy Engineering (SCEE), Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the Head of UTM’s Advanced Material and Separation Technologies Research Group (AMSET). She graduated from University of Bradford, England in 1999 and PhD in Chemical Engineering from UTM in 2010. She has been with UTM since 1999.

Research wise, Dr. Mazura has a strong background in chemical engineering separation technologies, more specifically in freeze concentration which deals with crystallisation of pure ice from a solution for water removal purpose. The technology can be applied in liquid food concentration, water purification, desalination and wastewater treatment. She has published 113 academic manuscripts and 2 books, filed two patents and has a H-index of 16. She has so far 5 PhD students graduated as Main Supervisor and several others as Co-supervisor, as well as a few Master students. Collectively, she has been the project leader and research member for 15 research grants, amounting to nearly RM2 million since 2004.

Dr Zahid Qamar, Sayyad is currently working as a Professor at the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Muscat, Oman. He has over 25 years of academic and research experience in different international universities. He has also worked as a professional mechanical engineer in the field for over 6 years in the heavy engineering and fabrication industry (Manager Research and Development; Deputy Manager Design; Production Engineer; Quality Control Engineer). On top of his experience as a researcher/academician, he has been actively involved in research and accreditation work related to engineering education. His technical research areas are Applied materials and manufacturing; Applied mechanics and design; Reliability engineering; and Engineering education. As part of the Applied Mechanics and Advanced Materials Research group (AM2R) at SQU, he has been involved in different applied research funded projects in excess of 4 million dollars. He has over 200 research/technical publications to his credit (research monographs/books, edited book volumes, book chapters, publications in refereed international journals and conferences, and technical reports). He has recently edited one volume (Renewability of Synthetic Materials) for the Elsevier Encyclopedia of Renewable and Sustainable Materials. He has served as Associate editor, Guest editor, and Member editorial board for different research journals (including Materials and Manufacturing Processes, Journal of Elastomers and Plastics, the Journal of Engineering Research, American Journal of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, etc)

Hajar Alias is currently a Senior Lecturer at University Technology Malaysia.She received her Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Rochester, USA in 1994. She then continued her studies at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom and received her PhD in 2007. Her doctoral research was on nano materials and synthesis of nano fluids for heat transfer application. Her current research work includes nano materials synthesis and characterization, nanofluids application and catalysis. She has published numerous articles in international refereed journals and conference proceedings. She is an associate member of Icheme UK.

Dr. Abdeen Mustafa Omer (BSc, MSc, PhD) is an Associate Researcher at Energy Research Institute (ERI). He obtained both his PhD degree in the Built Environment and Master of Philosophy degree in Renewable Energy Technologies from the University of Nottingham. He is qualified Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record within the water industry and renewable energy technologies. He has been graduated from University of El Menoufia, Egypt, BSc in Mechanical Engineering. His previous experience involved being a member of the research team at the National Council for Research/Energy Research Institute in Sudan and working director of research and development for National Water Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Sudan. He has been listed in the book WHO’S WHO in the World 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. He has published over 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 300 review articles, 18 books and 200 chapters in books

His area of research includes QSAR, Structure-based Ligand Design using Docking and Pharmacophore Modeling, Protein Modeling and Bio-molecular Simulations. He has 2 patents, 38 international papers to his credit.

Yu Jing, Ph.D., associate professor of "Hundred Talents Program" in School of Civil Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University (2020.09 to present). Fellow of the Hong Kong Concrete Society (Fellow), American Fulbright Scholar (Fulbright Scholar), and former Assistant Professor (Research Series) at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The main research direction is advanced sustainable concrete materials and structures. He presided over 1 National Natural Science Foundation project (youth) and participated in 8 provincial and ministerial fund projects. In the past five years, he has published more than 30 SCI papers in authoritative academic journals such as Cement and Concrete Research and Cement and Concrete Composites (including more than 20 first/corresponding authors and more than 20 top journals in the upgraded version of the Chinese Academy of Sciences). Presented more than 10 theme reports/invited reports at domestic and foreign academic conferences, conducted 1 overseas special lecture, concurrently served as the theme editor of 1 SCI journal, 1 guest associate editor of EI journals, and reviewers of more than 30 well-known academic journals people. Dr. Jing YU, Fellow of HKCI and Fulbright Scholar, is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) in China. He holds a Ph.D. degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and worked as a Research Assistant Professor at HKUST before joining SYSU. He has led/joined 10+ research projects and has published 60+ refereed journal/conference papers (including 20+ ones in JCR-Q1 journals). His research lies in Sustainable and Advanced Concrete Materials. The mission of his team is to contribute to a sustainable and smart built environment through the development of innovative and multi-functional construction products with high performance and low carbon. His research involves the use of various analytical, numerical, and experimental techniques for the advancement of scientific knowledge and practical applications of concrete materials.
